back

Hello,
I am back from my first job!I was in the northern part of Oman, in Malaan field.
I was very lucky as I started with a geosteering job. we used the famous so called periscope tool. we logged while drilling approx 1000m sub horizontal in the Upper Shuaiba. the window was 5 m height.
Geosteering is a technic which consists of guiding the drill string inside a formation thanks to resistivity contrast betweem the formation reservoir and the upper seal. we real time communicate with geosteering specialist in town thanks to a VSAT connection, and they sent us the instruction regarding the drilling procedure ( go up or go down ).

special thanks to the more experienced engineers. they gave me some of their time to show me a lot of things.

what I will remember for my first time are:
Job schedule which can be sum up as this : first 2 days = the big rush, last 2 days the big rush. between them: the big flat!
rig crew : very nice guys
food : food comes each 6 hours with a variety of 3-4 meals.
camp : dont expect a luxurious accomodation . Welcome to operation.
dunes. the scenery around was really beautiful

the aim of this first job was just to get into the "mood" of the rig.

I am waiting for my second which then, I will be more usefull in the unit :p
